The problem
Where orders go to die
Checkout friction, delivery questions, and plain distraction end most shopping sessions. Roughly 68-75% of carts never become orders, and most stores never touch the buyer again.
- The customer left with the intent and the product list intact
- Email follow-ups land in inboxes no one opens
- The sale is lost only because nobody asked again
The flow
The 3-message recovery flow
Three touches, spaced so each one hits a different failure point.
- Message 1, within hours of abandonment: the reminder. "Your cart is waiting" with the direct link back to checkout.
- Message 2, roughly a day later: the incentive. A small offer that turns hesitation into a decision.
- Message 3, the last call: a gentle expiry notice. Then stop. Respecting the stop is what keeps the number healthy.
The fees
Why recovery messages are cheap
Recovery messages are order-related, so they belong in the utility category, which bills at a low rate. Inside an active 24-hour service window they are service conversations and free. Only run recovery as marketing if the buyer opted in for offers; otherwise the conversation fee jumps to the highest tier for no benefit.
The templates
Copy-paste templates
Adjust the placeholders and send. These work as WhatsApp templates (utility category) or plain messages inside the service window.
The setup
How to run it in Wutt
The flow builder schedules the three messages, Wutt Store supplies the cart links, and contact opt-in status decides who is eligible. Set it once; it runs on every abandoned cart.
