How to switch from Trengo to Wutt (keep your WhatsApp number)

Trengo is a well-regarded Dutch customer communication platform used across ecommerce, hospitality and travel in Europe. Note that older 'from €99/mo' figures are outdated — as of 4 August 2026 their Boost plan starts at €299/mo billed annually (€349 month-to-month). This page compares it fairly against Wutt, with the source linked below.

The number does not move Your WhatsApp number stays yours.

Most teams migrate in 3–5 days. Your WhatsApp number is not lost — it is connected to a new application, not moved.

01 · The migration path

Moving from Trengo to Wutt, step by step

  1. 01

Export your contacts and conversation history from Trengo (CSV).

  2. 02

Create your Wutt workspace and connect the same WhatsApp number via Meta Cloud API or QR session.

  3. 03

Re-submit your approved templates in Wutt; Meta keeps template approvals per business, not per provider.

  4. 04

Import contacts, tags, and notes into Wutt.

  5. 05

Recreate your automation journeys as Wutt flows and campaigns, then set up booking services.

  6. 06

Run both tools in parallel for one week, then switch your wa.me links and QR codes to Wutt.

02 · What to watch

What to watch during the move

Teams switching from Trengo to Wutt typically keep the same WhatsApp number and templates. The capability to watch in a migration is the conversation cap: Wutt's flat plans have no conversation allowance to track, renew or top up.

Questions buyers ask before switching

No. Your number stays with you. You disconnect it from Trengo and connect it to Wutt using the same Meta Cloud API account or a QR session. Meta approvals for templates are tied to your business, not to Trengo.

You can reuse the same template text, but you re-submit the templates inside Wutt so approvals are associated with your Wutt workspace. Most approvals take a few hours to a few days.

The mechanical part takes one to two hours: export contacts, connect the number, import templates. Most teams run both tools for a week before fully switching links and QR codes.

Trengo's entry price has moved: as of 4 August 2026 their Boost plan is €299/mo billed annually (€349 month-to-month), with conversation caps. We re-verify quarterly and always link their live pricing page.

A 7-day message window with a customer. Boost (monthly billing) includes 500 conversations/month, Pro 1,500/month, with extra conversations billed at €18 per 100. Wutt's plans have no such caps.

Trengo does not add markup to WhatsApp fees, though AI-augmented conversations carry a surcharge. Wutt adds no markup at all — Meta bills you, and Wutt bills a flat plan price.

If you already pay €300+/mo for omnichannel support across email, social and chat, Trengo is a genuine fit. If WhatsApp and Telegram are your channels and you want booking and store chat too, Wutt covers it for $11–$299/mo.
