Deposit suggestion — what a deposit on new bookings would recover
A 30–50% deposit doesn't prevent no-shows — it transfers the cost: clients who no-show forfeit the deposit. Check local rules before applying deposits.
Wutt sends appointment reminders and lets clients confirm, reschedule or cancel in one tap — so fewer no-shows happen in the first place, with the deposit policy attached to the booking. Reduce no-shows.
No-shows are the quiet leak in every appointment business: the slot was booked, the staff was ready, and the client didn't come. This calculator turns four inputs — appointments per day, no-show rate, average ticket value and working days per month — into the monthly revenue those empty chairs cost.
How the math works
The monthly loss is appointments per day × working days × no-show percentage × average ticket. The tool also shows the implied number of no-shows per month, so the figure feels real: ten appointments a day at 15% is roughly 39 no-shows a month at your ticket value.
What deposits actually do
A deposit doesn't prevent no-shows — it transfers their cost. A client who no-shows forfeits the deposit, so the 30–50% deposit range shown in the tool turns part of the loss into collected revenue. Check local regulations before applying deposits; many markets have specific rules for healthcare and beauty services.
Reminders beat deposits
- A reminder message 24 hours before reduces no-shows because clients can reschedule instead of silently skipping
- Letting clients confirm or cancel in one tap fills released slots
- Deposits work best on new or repeated offenders, not loyal regulars
Reading the estimate
Your no-show rate is the weakest input, so measure it from your own booking history rather than guessing. Note whether you already send reminders: a practice that sends none can often halve its rate with a single confirmation message, which changes the deposit math in the tool accordingly. Recalculate quarterly: seasons change appointment patterns, and a rate measured in January is not the rate you are running in July. If you already collect deposits, input your real average ticket after the deposit; the tool then shows the loss on what clients actually owe.
From calculator to policy
Wutt sends automated appointment reminders and confirmation flows over WhatsApp, attaches your deposit policy to bookings and reopens cancelled slots automatically.
